Persona 5 launching in the US next February

The latest entry in Atlus’ cult JRPG Persona series will be hitting American shelves at the start of 2017.

Publisher Atlus has revealed that Persona 5 will be launching for PS4 and PS3 on February 14th, 2017. Not only that – the firm has announced a special edition, which is exclusively for PlayStation 4.

This comes with a SteelBook, a plush toy of magical cat Morgana, an art book, a school bag and CD.

A September release date for Japan was announced in May. Persona 5 was initially meant to launch in Japan and America at the end of 2015.

What hasn’t been revealed yet, however, is a European or UK release date. Atlus games were previously released in Europe by NIS America. However, the two companies cut ties in April following the finalisation of Sega’s acquisition of Atlus.

This left many European consumers wondering how or when Persona 5 would be launching on this side of the Atlantic. Sega Europe has since said it would be interested in releasing Atlus games in the UK.

MCV has reached out to Atlus to find out about a European release date.
