PES 2010 striking Wii this year

Wii owners were forced to wait over five months for 2008’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to make the move from Xbox 360, PS3 and PC to their platform, but Konami has stated that the Wii version of PES 2010 will be out this autumn.

Though the game won’t match the still-unknown street date of Konami’s other SKUs, Konami’s decision to bring the Wii port further in line with other console’s annual release cycle will be welcomed by most.

Like the other versions, PES 2010 Wii will include both the Champions League and Europa League licenses. A significant graphical upgrade has also been promised, with players visibly calling for the ball.

The stakes have been raised and PES 2010 for Wii shows that Konami can still innovate and surprise,” Konami’s Akiyoshi ‘Greyhound’ Chosogabe explained.

Our control system for Wii is still regarded as the finest and most intuitive around, and we have once again reworked it to add a level of control and realism that can appeal to new and old PES fans alike.”

There are plenty of gameplay tweaks on offer, too, including a new ‘instantaneous stamina’ system that’s designed to stop game-killing dribbles from one of the pitch to the other.
