Konami has grabbed yet another license for the PES series, and it's a really big one too.

UEFA has announced that it has signed a deal with the publisher for the Euro 2016 license ahead of the tournament next year in France. With PES 2016 due out in September it won't feature at launch in that game, but could be added later via DLC or perhaps even as a standalone release.

It was revealed yesterday that Konami has grabbed a pair of Brazilian club licenses for its game. It previously extended its agreement with UEFA for the Champions League license, too.

"We are extremely proud to be working with UEFA around Euro 2016,” European brand director of football for Konami Erik Bladinieres said. The PES series is famed for showing football at its very best and is created by a team that truly loves and understands it.

We are committed to representing UEFA Euro 2016in a way that truly reflects the status of this epic tournament. UEFA Euro 2016is a stunning gathering of European talent and we are committed to producing the definitive representation of top-level football."

UEFA Events marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein added: "We are very happy to expand our successful collaboration with Konami Digital Entertainment to our national team competitions.

Konami is a great licensing partner and has provided top-quality video games for our club competitions for many years. We look forward to this newest extension of the PES series, created specifically for UEFA Euro 2016, further engaging with football fans around Europe and the world."
