Pirates leads LEGO armada in UK charts

Games based on the LEGO toy brand continue to build in strength with four titles in the UK Top 40.

Disney’s LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean sailed to No.2 in its debut week, pipped to the top spot by Brink.

LEGO Pirates sits five places ahead of LucasArts’ LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, which is at No.7.

Finally Warner Bros. takes two places with chart regulars LEGO Harry Potter at No.20 and LEGO Batman at No.40.

The success of LEGO Pirates comes ahead of the new movie, which launches across the UK this week.

We are delighted with how LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean has sold through last weekend, and the reviews from the media have been fantastic,” Disney’s product manager Jeff Suter told MCV.

And with On Stranger Tides launching in cinemas, we’re looking forward to another strong performance at retail this weekend.”
