PlayStation VR bundle including Camera and Move controller launching in America

Sony is revealed it is launching a hardware bundle with everything consumers need for PlayStation VR.

Speaking to TechInsider, an unnamed Sony rep sitting in on an interview with PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida said that a bundle that comes with the PlayStation VR headset, Camera and Move motion controller would be launching in North America.

The anonymous rep was unable to price point for the hardware, however. There is also no word on the bundle launching outside of the US but MCV has reached out to Sony for further details.

PlayStation yesterday revealed both the price point and the launch window for its virtual reality tech – the hardware will set consumers back 349 and is coming to stores in October.

Low as this price may be compared to its competitors – the 500 Oculus Rift and 700 HTC Vive – this price does not include the PlayStation Camera or Move controller which track the headset and the player’s hands respectively.

Yoshida said that the reason the base package doesn’t come with Camera is that many already own the peripheral as it has been available since launch.

Neither are required for the tech to work – the DualShock 4 can be used to track movement of players’ hands.

A PlayStation Camera currently costs 39 on Amazon, while Move controllers set consumers back 24.
