Pokémon Go’s Halloween event will give you more Drowzees

Pokmon Go is getting its first seasonal event, in the form of the Halloween update that will increase the spawn rates of spooky critters.

Starting on October 26th spawn rates for spooky Pokmon will increase. These Pokmon include the likes of Gastly, Gengar, Haunter, Zubat, Golbat, Drowzee and Hypno. While I’m sure none of us need any more Drowsee’s this does offer up the best chance to catch some of the more illusive scary Pokmon.

Elsewhere in the event, which runs until November 1st, candy rates will be increased, because you know it’s Halloween. Rewards for catching new Pokmon will be doubled, as will rewards for hatching eggs and transferring Pokmon to the professor. You will also receive four times as much candy if you have a buddy Pokmon set up. All this means it could turn out to be quite the lucrative few days for the most hardcore of players.

This is the first of what will most likely be many seasonal events for Pokmon Go, which continues to be one of the most popular apps on mobile devices. The event does sound like a good idea on paper, as it will most likely bring back many players who have dropped off in recent weeks, however boosting the amount of Drowzees will annoy quite a few people.
