The BBC has announced that viewing figures on the PS3 reached 7m in December.
Programme requests made via Sony’s console increased by 31 per cent when compared to the previous month, according to the Beeb.
The PS3 figures helped iPlayer break its own records, pushing total requests for TV and radio programmes in December to 145m. It’s the third consecutive month the service has topped its own figures.
However, the PS3 is still quite a way behind the version of BBC iPlayer found on Virgin Media, which surpassed 23.9m requests received for the month.
Strangely, there was no mention of the Wii version of iPlayer that launched back in 2008.
