Sony has revealed huge like-for-like rises in PS3 hardware and software in its Q1 financials.
In terms of like-for-like sales, the platform holder’s flagship console sold double the amount it did last Q1 – up to 1.56m from 0.70m the previous year.
PlayStation 3 software also fared rather well – leaping from 4.7m units in Q1 2007 to 22.8m this time around.
PSP also saw like-for-like rises in hardware and software sales, increasing from 2.13m in Q1 FY2007 to 3.72 in FY 2008. It was a similar story on software, which rose to 11.8m units this Q1 compared to 9.8m in Q1 FY 2007.
PlayStation 2 saw drops in both hardware and software like-for-like figures, falling from 2.66m to 1.51m on hardware and 31.1m to 19.3m in terms of software units.
