Sony has revealed a couple of bits of functionality that are missing from PS4.
Perhaps the most painful is the fact that it won't support media servers or offer DLNA support, meaning that users won't be able to stream content from the PC or media centre through to the device.
Nor will it support MP3 files or the playing of audio CDs. Those wanting to play custom music during games will have to use Sony's Music Unlimited streaming service.
Both of these functions are available on PS3. And Xbox 360.
Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has subsequently stated on Twitter that the company has heard the negative reaction to the news and may well do something about it in the future.
