Record traffic for PS Home

Sony’s PlayStation Home has reached all-time high user activity levels since PSN was switched back on.

The PS3’s in-game social world has just reached a new milestone in terms of its amount of weekly unique users, Gamasutra reports.

We’re having record traffic in Home,” said SCEA’s director for PlayStation Home Jack Buser. The week we restored the service, we hit a new record in terms of weekly unique users.

We were watching the numbers and we were just so excited. We were just dancing in the streets. The numbers are through the roof. I think it speaks to the loyalty of our user base and to the power of these kinds of platforms.”

This week PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai said Sony may not be able to track the hackers who brought down its online gaming service PSN, which was shut off for almost one month while Sony beefed up its security.

The hackers breached 100m accounts in total and Sony says they may have taken the personal details of users.
