Record viewer numbers for Viagame’s second Hearthstone House Cup

Viagame’s second ever Hearthstone House Cup last month saw viewer numbers jump 400 per cent compared to its first event.

MTG’s gathering took place last month between March 27th and 29th. Over 3.9m live streams were started in this time from almost 2m unique viewers. At its peak it had 91k concurrent viewers, which according to the Swedish media company made it the biggest independent Hearthstone tournament to date.

Participants included big names such as Kolento, Firebat, Savjz, Orange, Amaz and Hoej – the latter of which was the eventual winner. Hunter was the most picked class, with Mage and Rogue tying for second. Mage, however, was the most successful deck.

We are happy to see such incredible viewing numbers for our House Cup, again showing the huge and growing interest in Hearthstone as an eSport,” Vigame boss Isabelle Ewert said. We were especially happy about the positive response from the community, where the House Cup format is highly appreciated.”

The event was streamed on a number of platforms including Twitch, YouTube, Hitbox and Viagame itself.
