Registration for the 2019 DICE Summit – and the 2019 DICE Awards – is now open.
DICE will run from February 10th to February 13th, 2019, at Las Vegas venue, the Aria Resort and Casino. To be eligible for submission into the 22nd DICE Awards, the game must have been released to the public between January 1st and Dec. 31st, 2018, and your application must be received by 5 pm PST on December 3rd, 2018.
The awards celebrate excellence in art, animation, story, music, game design, and game direction, as well as "looking at emerging technologies such as Immersive Reality". The Academy’s top honour, Game of the Year (GOTY), celebrates a single title that stands above every other game released "with the strength of its craft, depth and innovation".
Previous Game of the Year winners include Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2018), Overwatch (2017), Fallout 4 (2016), Dragon Age: Inquisition (2015), and The Last of Us (2014).
DICE’s 2019 theme celebrates "trailblazers, disruptors, technical masterminds and poets of pixels continue to change the game, building and promoting community on both sides of the screen".
"Game makers test creative and technological boundaries while defining the evolving culture of interactive entertainment," says a DICE statement. "Joining us on stage at DICE Summit, game makers will share insights into the groundbreaking principals and tools that drive and empower them, their teams, and the community at large to create better worlds in which to play and a better world in which to live."
