SNK’s King of Fighters wants to lay the smackdown on its ‘dominant’ beat ‘em up rivals.
SNK has teamed up with Rising Star to release King of Fighters XIII this October. The series is now 17 years old.
King of Fighters is one of the most respected brands in the fighting genre,” said Rising Star product manager Yen Hau. It has a massive and loyal following within Europe, with the UK ranking among the top territories, so we are confident that we can awaken this sleeping giant and really give the dominant competition a run for its money.”
SNK’s head of games business Masaki Oyama told MCV: With a strong passion for Japanese games, a loyal community of followers and enthusiasm for successfully launching this important title in the UK, Europe and PAL territories, we felt Rising Star Games was the right partner for this release.”
SNK is just one of many partnerships Rising Star has signed with revered Japanese studios. It also has an ongoing deal with Cave.
The SNK deal is a statement of intent that Rising Star is adding another heavyweight franchise to our library with the pedigree of SNK Playmore,” said Hau.
