Sega bags official Beijing 2008 licence

Sega is hoping to claim a major summer hit with its newly-announced official Olympics licence. Beijing 2008 will be released on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and mobile phones in the summer.

Gamers will be able to compete online for the first time in an olympics title as they compete in over 35 events from the forthcoming Olympic Games. Sega also states that it wil give both novice and experienced gamers a taste of the Olympic action.

After the successful launch of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, we are delighted to announce the official video game of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games,” said marketing director of Sega Europe Gary Knight. Combining an enjoyable game with a truly global sporting license will provide a fantastic sports game experience for gamers everywhere.”
