Nvidia has cut the price of its upcoming Android portable and PC games streaming device Shield.

The machine, launched on June 27th, was due to be released for $350 but will now be available for just $300.

"We've heard from thousands of gamers that if the price was $299, we'd have a home run," project manager Jason Paul stated, as reported by GameSpot. "So we're changing the price of Shield to $299. We want to get Shield into the hands of as many gamers as possible."

Shield packs a 720p five-inch multi-touch screen and can play Android titles acquired from the Google Play store. It can also stream PC games from Steam over a local network.

Inside is housed a Tegra 4 CPU, 16GB of RAM, GPS and Bluetooth. It also has space for a MicroSD card.
