SOE prepares to close down free-to-play FPS Bullet Run after just 7 months

Free-to-play FPS Bullet Run is to be closed down on March 8th.

Sony Online Entertainment’s PC shooter only went live in August, but billing for the title has already been cancelled with any outstanding subscription charges having been refunded.

Developer Acony will retain the rights to the code, but SOE says there is no plan to relaunch the game at this time”. The game’s website and forum will also be terminated on March 8th.

The game’s community, judging by its form, is not entirely surprised by the news.

The critical reception to Bullet Run was both limited and damning. It has a lowly 53 per cent average on Metacritic, with PC Gamer saying in its review that the game was a cynical attempt at milking players for money” that plays like a tacked-on online mode for a single player game”.
