Sony partners up with Spotify for PlayStation Music

Publish date:

Sony has joined forces with Spotify for new digital music service PlayStation Music.

This new service will allow PlayStation fans to access Spotify's library of digital music via PlayStation Network.

To do this, users will be able to link their PSN and Spotify accounts. Fans will be able to access both the free ad-supported tier, as well as the 9.99-a-month Premium version.

Users will also be able to play music in the background as they play games.

This new service is to launch this spring in 41 markets around the globe, including UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.

PlayStation Music will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, as well as Sony Xperia mobile devices.

Before the launch of PlayStation Music, Sony's Music Unlimited service will close. The latter service will be shutting its doors on March 29th.
