Sony Xperia Z3 range offers PS4 Remote Play

Soon it won’t be only the PlayStation Vita that offers PS4 Remote Play.

Sony’s new Xperia Z3 range – including the vanilla Z3, the Z3 Compact and the Z3 Tablet – will also allow users to stream games from their PS4 using the existing PlayStation App, which will from November recognise when it is installed on a Z3 and add Remote Play accordingly.

Unlike Vita’s Remote Play, players won’t be able to use it over the internet and will instead have to be connected to the same wi-fi network as their console.

However, once their Z3 is connected to a DualShock 4 via Sony’s GCM10 Game Controller attachment they’ve effectively got unlimited access to off-screen gaming in the home.

Sony also adds that internet Remote Play may be possible in the future.

The Z3 smartphone itself offers a 1080p 5.2-inch display, 2.5GHz quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM. More interestingly it claims to offer, on average, a full two days of battery life.
