South Park: Stick of Truth won’t require uPlay on PC

The PC version of Ubisoft’s upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth won’t integrate the publisher’s uPlay service.

uPlay will not be featured in South Park: Stick of Truth,” developer Obsidian confirmed on Twitter, adding: That’s pretty exceptional for a game published by Ubisoft.”

The studio also confirmed that it’s a Steam game, with Steam achievements”.

Ubisoft’s uPlay service has been around on PC since 2012 and has received its fair share of stick from PC gamers. The game can be purchased via uPlay but won’t require uPlay when played via Steam, as was the case with previous titles such as Assassin’s Creed V and Far Cry 3.

Ubisoft acquired the publishing rights Stick of Truth last year following the collapse of former publisher THQ.

South Park: Stick of Truth will be released in the UK on March 7th.
