Three Fields’ in-development sports game has at last been revealed.
It’s called Dangerous Golf and it’s due out on PS4, Xbox One and PC in May and is described as a physics-powered experience – that’s no surprise from key members of the team who first brought us the creative destruction of the Burnout series.
Score is determined not by the number of shots but by the amount of damage caused. Over 100 holes are included across of a variety of interior and exterior locations. The studio has been working with Epic and Nvidia to ensure the physics engine is top notch.
We wanted to see what would happen if we mixed the attitude of Burnout with the destruction of Black whilst powering up a golf ball and setting it on fire — a clear nod to NBA Jam, one of my all-time favorite games,” Three Fields co-founder Fiona Sperry said. This type of fast gameplay has always been part of our DNA and it’s something we hope you’ll enjoy playing.
Sperry co-founded Three Fields with former Criterion chum Alex Ward in 2014. Last year they said they were working on both a multiplayer sports game and a spiritual successor to Burnout.
