Splash Damage developing Batman: Arkham Origins multiplayer mode

Warner has revealed that Batman: Arkham Origins will introduce multiplayer to the series for the first time.

Furthermore, that segment of the game is going to be developed by London-based Brink developer Splash Damage. The main game is being developed by Warner Bros Montreal – both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City were made by fellow London studio Rocksteady.

Note that Arkham Origins’ multiplayer mode will only be available on 360, PS3 and PC and will be absent from the Wii U, 3DS and Vita versions.

The Batman: Arkham Origins Online mode offers players the chance to hunt as Batman or Robin against the most challenging opponents yet, friends and other gamers online,” the blurb reads.

Players can also take on the role of a Super-Villain Elite and get a peek behind the curtain of what it’s like to side with The Joker or Bane as they establish their legacy by taking down Batman and Robin, and anyone else who gets in their way.

Fans will even be able call in the ultimate reinforcement to help turn the tide in any match by playing as The Joker or Bane themselves.”

The game is due out on October 25th.
