Warner Bros has apparently scrapped plans for a Suicide Squad game, with attention instead being pushed toward the next Batman title.
Kotaku has word from sources that the game was canned earlier this month having been in development for around two years. There isn't much specific information regarding the problems beyond rumours that it was a co-op game and that it failed to impress the publisher.
It possibly didn't help, either, that the Suicide Squad film has already been and gone, winning some largely unfavourable reviews in the process. It seems possible, however, that should the brand be resurrected on film then the game too could be revisited.
The site adds that rumours point to Warner Bros Montreal's next project being instead another Batman game, perhaps associated with DC character Damian Wayne who goes on to become Robin in the graphic novels.
That had at one stage been rumoured for a December reveal, although it seems that nothing will be seen until 2017 now.
Rocksteady, meanwhile, has got to be working on a Superman game, right? Right?
