Less than two weeks after the release of the first episode, Telltale has surprised us all by revealing that Episode 2 of Minecraft: Story Mode will arrive today.
Episode Two: Assembly Required should be making its way onto Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC some time this afternoon. The PS4 and PS3 versions look likely to arrive tomorrow when Sony presses the button on its weekly PSN refresh.
All of which means that the first two episodes of the game have made it to market before the game has even hit shelves – it’s due out in the UK this Friday. The physical version only has Episode 1 on the disc, with a code in the box entitling buyers to download the remaining content as and when it’s available.
Premiering Minecraft: Story Mode this month, we’ve been overjoyed by the reception from both the Minecraft community and fans of Telltale across the world diving into the all-ages adventure and making key decisions that will craft their own stories throughout the rest of the season,” Telltale CEO and co-founder Kevin Bruner said.
This week, we’re happy to offer the game on a special disc at retailers worldwide, including access to the thrilling second episode, Assembly Required, which will feel like a completely different chapter for players depending on their paths taken in episode one.”
