The developer of Dead Island has said it is looking into claims that it released the incorrect version of zombie thriller Dead Island on Steam.
Users of Steam’s forum highlighted some lines from the game’s code which suggest that the version available to purchase was actually a developer build. Furthermore, it looks like it might be a ported version of the Xbox SKU.
"Techland is currently investigating this information and we’ll do everything we can to make sure everyone can enjoy playing their copy of Dead Island," a spokesperson for the studio told Eurogamer.
"Deep Silver is a part of every release process and any further updates will come from the game’s publisher."
Furthermore, Destructoid has published an extensive list of fixes that will soon be implemented via a patch for the game.
