The Escapists 2 gets boxed PS4 and Xbox One release on August 22nd

The Escapists 2 will arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 22nd, publisher Team17 has announced, with a Switch version following at a later date.

Priced at 19.99, the game will be available as both a digital and physical release on PS4 and Xbox One thanks to Team17’s partnership with Sold Out, but the game’s PC release will be limited to Steam, says Team17. Digital pre-orders will be available soon, but those looking to pre-order a physical version of the game can secure a copy straight away.

What’s more, Team17 has revealed that select retailers will be bundling in an additional prison, The Glorious Regime, as a special pre-order bonus.

Eager players can also head to the game’s website to create their own character ahead of the game’s launch using the ‘Create-a-Con’ avatar feature. Here, players can choose form a variety of different customisation options to design their own Escapist, and they can also export the results for use on social media.

Garry Williams, CEO of Sold Out Sales & Marketing Limited said: We’re delighted Team17 has chosen to partner with Sold Out for the retail release of The Escapists 2, and we’re honoured to deliver another indie blockbuster from Team17’s Games Label. Our international sales and distribution network will be key to delivering another success story for one of our most valued partners.”

There’s no word yet on when the Switch version will be released, or whether it will have the same price as its console counterparts, but we’ll update this story with more information as soon as it’s confirmed.
