PlayStation held its third annual Experience event this year, with some big names showing up on the platform holder’s stage.
The platform holder opened up with a brand new title in the Uncharted franchise, entitled The Lost Legacy, featuring Drake’s ex-girlfriend, Chloe.
It’s being developed by franchise creators Naughty Dog, who also closed up the show with the revelation that another The Last of Us game is in the works. Entitled simply ‘Part II’, protagonists Joel and Ellie return. Sony’s Shawn Layden was keen to point out that this is still very early in development.
Sony also revealed that the rumours were true – a new Marvel vs Capcom is coming. Titled Infinite, it features Capcom heroes Mega Man and Ryu, as well as Iron Man and Captain Marvel. This is set for a 2017 release date. It’s not clear whether this title is coming to Xbox One also.
In addition, Layden revealed that Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is launching on PS4 today (Saturday, December 3rd).
The exec was also wearing a t-shirt feature WipEouticonography, which was teasing the revelation that WipEoutHD, Fury and 2048 were coming to PlayStation 4 in the form of The Omega Collection. That has a release date of summer 2017.
Shelby Cox also took to the stage to show the first gameplay for the Crash Bandicoot remake, announced on-stage at E3 this year. Entitled the N-Sane Trilogy, this is set for a 2017 release date.
That wasn’t the only old-school PlayStation franchise to get some lip service at Experience. Shuhei Yoshida came on-stage to reveal that Parappa the Rapper is coming being remastered for PS4, alongside Patapon and LocoRoco.
Furthermore, PS4 launch title Knack is getting a sequel. From Studio Japan, this title appears to feature co-op play this time around.
Sony’s Gio Corsi took to the stage at the half way mark to unveil that Yakuza 6 would be launching in the West in early 2018, while Yakuza Kiwami – a remake of the PlayStation 2 original – is hitting shelves on summer 2017.
PlayStation also announced a new twin-stick shooter from Housemarque called Nex Machina: Death Machine.
Square Enix Montreal’s Lara Croft Go is also set for PS4 and Vita shortly.
