The Sims link up with H&M

EA’s giant franchise The Sims has joined forces with clothes retailer H&M to unleash a gamer designed outfit in real life stores.

Over 1,000 would be fashion designers used The Sims 2 design tool to create an outfit that would feature in The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Runway, a virtual fashion show hosted on Yahoo. The winning outfit, voted for by over 100,000 people was created and put into 1,000 H&M stores worldwide. With special The Sims 2 hangtag and signage, the outfit will retail for $14.90 USD.

The Sims is thrilled that an outfit designed by one of our players is on its way to H&M stores around the world,” said Nancy Smith, president of The Sims Label. This is a testament to our players’ imagination and vibrant sense of community, demonstrated by the significant number of people who viewed the online showcase. We thank players of The Sims everywhere, H&M and Yahoo! for collaborating to make this a fun – and fashionable – outlet for creativity.”
