The World Ends With You on iOS removed from App Store

Square Enix have been forced to pull The World Ends With You: Solo Remix from the Apple App Store due to the game’s broken state on iOS 8.

Kotaku reports that the title’s mobile edition hasn’t worked for months since the release of the latest major iOS update, prompting Square Enix to remove the game from sale until the firm resolves the issues.

Meanwhile, Apple device users who purchased the game are stuck having to wait for an update that has yet to be scheduled.

Upon examining the impact of recent iOS updates to the title, we determined that the affected areas were greater than originally assumed. We were working to address this matter, however, the title has been regrettably pulled from the Store,” a company representative stated.

Square Enix is actively working with all related parties to make available the software update; however at this time, we are unable to communicate a clear and adequate timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to determine a solution.”

The World Ends With You: Solo Remix originally launched in 2012 on iOS, and arrived on Android (sans the Solo Remix subtitle) in early 2014. The Android version is currently available on the Google Play store for $17.99.
