As popular pooch Snoopy prepares to make a big-screen return on his 65th birthday, Activision has announced a video game tie-in for the upcoming film.
Inspired by the cinematic effort that shares its name, The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is a side-scrolling platformer starring the characters of the iconic Charles M. Schulz comic strip.
It’s being developed by Behaviour Interactive, perhaps best known as the creator of a different zoological title, Naughty Bear – although one can imagine the Snoopy title will employ a slightly lighter tone.
In the game, the eponymous mutt will be tasked with tracking down Charlie Brown as part of an expansive game of hide-and-seek.
Snoopy will be able to adopt a variety of costumes based on his appearances from throughout Peanuts history, each of which provides a different ability for traversing the various levels on offer, which include Paris, the Moon and flight stages based on his Flying Ace persona.
Co-op multiplayer will be included, with a second player able to jump in as Woodstock and help distract enemies and open hidden paths.
The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure is due out on November 6th on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS.
