TnC and Execration finally secure visas for The International

Just days before the biggest Dota 2 event of the year starts, two of the competing teams have been given US visas.

TnC and Execration, two teams that made it through the South East Asian qualifier, have been granted US P-1 visas after initially being denied. Both teams initially applied for B-1/B-2 visas, but were denied and told to apply for the P-1 visa, which can take months to come through.

However Senators Bam Aquino and Sonnny Angara from the Philippines and Senator Maria Cantwell from the US, along with Valve, assisted the two teams with their applications and made sure that the visas came through in time.

Both teams will now travel to Seattle and prepare for The International, which starts on August 2nd with the Wildcard Tournament. The group stage will then take place between August 3rd and 5th with the main event running between August 8th and 13th.

We would like to sincerely thank Senator Bam Aquino and all of his hardworking staff,” read a post on the TnC Facebook page. It has been many sleepless nights but you are always there supporting us. Without your sincere efforts, this will not be possible. Your push for e-sports in our country is greatly valuable for the whole community. Thank you very much!”
