Beasley's entry into the games market came by chance – aged 17 she applied for a job as a trainee contact lens technician, only to be offered a job at a new games firm set up by the interviewer six months later.

Later that year, Galactic Software teamed up with Mastertronic. With no other experience or training Beasley learnt on the job, working hard and having fun. The experience left her hooked on the games industry.

More than two decades later, Beasley is still hooked by the creativity of developers and the reaction from gamers, and is looking forwards to a more diverse and widespread industry.

Her PR company Lincoln Beasley PR celebrates 20 years in business this February, having been on of the first PR firms to represent developers directly.

Beasley herself plans to get more involved with disabled gamers charity Special Effect over the next year.
