Top 100 Women in Games: Shelly Pearce

Shelly Pearce has been one of the faces of Nintendo for over 16 years.

She began as UK PR manager for THE Games – Nintendo’s UK distributor – in 1998, just after the launch of Goldeneye, and went on to handle the arrival of Pokmon in Britain. From there she moved to Nintendo’s European team to lead PR and communications, where she worked on the launches of GameCube, Wii, DS, and 3DS.

In recent years, Pearce has returned to the UK team, this time as Marketing Director. She handled the launch of Wii U and is currently working on the upcoming launches of New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL. Also, 16 years on, she is still launching Pokmon games.

I love the passion of both the people who work in the industry and the people who play our games,” Pearce tells MCV.I feel honored to work in such an exciting industry that is constantly innovating and surprising.”

My goal is to simply keep doing the best I can to make our fans smile."
