Twitch hires Maker Studios’ Kendra Johnson

Twitch has appointed Maker Studios’ Kendra Johnson as its new general manager of global content and development and emerging markets. She will now be responsible for the social video platforms’ global content acquisition efforts while growing its business in both the Latin America and Asia Pacific regions. She will also be overseeing all regional content development teams.

Previously, Johnson worked at Maker Studios where she was head of distribution and strategic partnerships and helped develop and execute the company’s content distribution strategy. She has also been VP of business strategy, planning and development at ABC Family, and has worked at Miramax Films and Goldman Sachs.

Twitch’s creator-first approach to monetization, moderation, and overall functionality, has elevated livestreaming from a hobby to a career,” said Kendra Johnson.

My goal is to ensure creators and viewers around the world are fully versed in both the depth of our offerings and the strength of our community. It’s these elements that collectively establish Twitch as the premier destination for interactive entertainment."

This is Twitch’s second major hire this month, as it was just two weeks ago that it announced it had hired games industry veteran and Wargaming global marketing director Rahim Attaba, who joined the platform as director of commerce for EMEA.
