UK Hearthstone prices to soar next week

Blizzard has confirmed that the price of cards packs for Hearthstone is to increase from March 22nd, and the UK in particular is in for a rough time.

The prices, which apply to PC, Mac and Android, were announced on the Battle.net forums. The European price is going up by a flat 11 per cent across all SKUs. In the UK, however, some prices are being increased by a whopping 50 per cent.

Here’s a run-down of the UK changes, as per Neogaf:

2 Packs – increasing from 1.99 to 2,99 (+50%)
7 Packs – increasing from 6.99 to 8.99 (+28%)
15 Packs – increasing from 13.99 to 16.99 (+21%)
40 Packs – increasing from 34.99 to 44.99 (+28%)
60 Packs – increasing from 47.99 to 59.99 (+25%)

The European changes are very different, however:

2 Packs – increasing from €2.69 to €2.99 (+11%)
7 Packs – increasing from €8.99 to €9.99 (+11%)
15 Packs – increasing from €17.99 to €19.99 (+11%)
40 Packs – increasing from €44.99 to €49.99 (+11%)
60 Packs – increasing from €62.99 to €69.99 (+11%)

Oh, and it looks like Article 50 is going to be triggered this week, incidentally. Yay.

iOS prices are already inflated compared to other platforms owing to the cut Apple takes from all sales on its platform and its recent Brexit-celebrating price increases.

We regularly look at our pricing around the world, and from time to time we make changes such as these to align with local and regional market conditions,” Blizzard said.

Fortunately the prelaunch price for the Un’Goro bundle won’t change and can still be had and its current rate up until the launch of the expansion.
