UKIE sponsoring Dare to be Digital

UK games trade body UKIE has been confirmed as the sponsor of this year’s Dare to be Digital video games design competition.

Run by University of Abertay, Dundee, the competition received some high-profile backing earlier this year when it was endorsed by the Livingstone-Hope skills review.

UKIE is delighted to support the inspirational Dare to be Digital competition, created and run by UKIE members Abertay University," UKIE chairman Andy Payne stated.

UKIE exists to support the wider interactive entertainment industry in the UK. We need to make sure that the UK’s video game developers have a supply of quality people, with the right skills to be the next generation of creative talent.

Dare to be Digital has a proven track record of uncovering high quality talent and UKIE is proud to be sponsoring the competition this year and is very much looking forward to work."

Abertay’s academic director of the Institute for Arts, Media and Computer Games Louis Natanson added: Dare to be Digital is delighted that UKIE is offering support for this year’s competition and joining our other judges to help pick the three winners.

We’re in the process of selecting the teams to interview for this year’s contest, and look forward to working with UKIE to help find the next generation of video games talent."
