UPDATED: FIFA, Black Ops 2, Mass Effect and Rayman confirmed for Wii U launch

Wii U editions of FIFA 13, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Mass Effect 3, Rayman Legends and more will be available on day one when the Nintendo console arrives in November.

The platform holder released a list of first and third-party titles due for both the November 30th release date and ‘launch window’ – the months following the new console’s debut.

FIFA 13, Rayman Legends and Mass Effect 3: Special Edition are amongst the third-party hits due on day one. Each will feature unique Wii U controls and additional features, such as Mass Effect’s interactive back story comic to bring Nintendo gamers up to speed with Shepard’s adventures.

Also set for launch is Ubisoft’s survival horror title ZombiU, which Nintendo announced will also be available in a special bundle with the Premium model of Wii U.

Nintendo’s launch titles will be New Super Mario Bros U and NintendoLand. The latter will be included in the console’s standard Premium pack.

Nintendo even confirmed some interesting download games that will be live on day one, each with exclusive content: Trine 2 Director’s Cut, Nano Assault Neo and Toki Tori 2.

The platform holder also listed several titles as ‘launch window’ releases. Given that Nintendo of Europe boss Satoru Shibata confirmed Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate will launch in March 2013, it is safe to assume this ‘window’ covers everything from December to March.

The following games will be released on November 30th:

  • FIFA 13 (EA)
  • Mass Effect 3: Special Edition (EA)

Interestingly, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 does not appear on this list – despite being confirmed by Nintendo of America’s simultaneous press conference.

UPDATED: Black Ops 2 has been confirmed as a launch title by a Nintendo UK press release. The list of launch day and launch window titles has also been expanded.
