VIDEO: Dragon Ball series makes next-gen debut

Bandai Namco has announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Xenoverse will be the first entry in the Dragon Ball series to appear on the new consoles. But it will also appear on both PS3 and Xbox 360.

The new title is being developed by Japanese studio Dimps, which also worked on the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai games.

Familiar characters including Goku and his enemies Vegeta, Frieza and Cell all return in Xenoverse – as does an unknown fighter yet to be revealed. It will also feature all-new gameplay design and world setup.

The Dragon Ball franchise is one of the biggest series ever created and is a reference for generations of manga and anime fans since 30 years now.” said Herve Hoerdt, VP of IP strategy, marketing and PR at Bandai Namco Games Europe.

”Bringing Dragon Ball Xenoverse to new-gen platforms and having a studio as experienced as Dimps is key for a massive hit in order to top all Dragon Ball fans’ expectations!”
