Nintendo of America announced today that Wii U will launch Stateside on November 18th – just in time for the busy Thanksgiving shopping period.
As with the Japanese and European launches, there will be two SKUs available on launch day: a white Basic SKU with 8GB memory and a black 32GB Deluxe model (known over here as the Premium pack).
The Basic set will retail for $299.99 and will include the console, AC adapters for the GamePad and console, and a HDMI cable. Unlike the Japanese and European Basic bundles, this will include a Wii Sensor Bar, but no games or other controllers.
The Deluxe set is priced at $349.99. Like the European bundle, this comes with a copy of NintendoLand, a Wii Sensor Bar, console and GamePad stands and a GamePad charging cradle.
Nintendo of America also announced a US and Canada online service called Nintendo TVii. According to VG247, this allows users to watch TV programs and movies via Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Streaming on either the TV or the tablet controller’s screen.
If users are watching via the TV, they will be able to tweet, find reviews, access Wikipedia and IMDB and browse the internet on the tablet.
There is no word on TVii coming to the UK or Europe yet.
