A new analytical study from
claims that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 boasts the current highest attach rate of all the next generation consoles – though Nintendo can lay claim to having the highest first party software attach rate.
The numbers show that the Xbox 360 can currently claim a ratio of 8.1 games per machine, though of course Microsoft’s machine has had longer on the market. The PS3 and Wii, in contrast, claim ratios of 5.3 and 5.5 respectively.
In first party terms, however, Nintendo rules the roost with an attachment rate of 2.4. Microsoft ratio is 1.4 and Sony’s 0.9.
