The first examination of the UK games business in three years is now underway – and you can help.

The 2015 Employment Census of the Creative Media Industries is being conducted by Creative Skillset in an effort to examine the makeup of the British industry and help companies and the government push the sector forward.

The census has been running since 1999, and is claimed to be the only one of its kind for the UK.

Among the findings of the 2012 census was the revelation that black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) employees in the UK games industry had fallen to comprise just 5.4 per cent.

If you work in games, you can fill in the census at http://j.mp/Census15-2.

The deadline for contributing is Friday, October 30th.

The Creative Skillset 2015 Census is a unique and immensely valuable opportunity to give an accurate overview of the creative media industries in the UK today,” enthused Creative Skillset CEO Dinah Caine CBE.

The findings will help us develop ways to make the sector more accessible whilst remaining highly competitive in the global market.”

Giselle Stewart, director of UK corporate affairs at Ubisoft and chair of Creative Skillset's Games Skills Council, added: The Creative Skillset Employment Census of the creative media industries is an important measure of the size and diversity of the games industry.

I urge all employers to take part because the results will directly influence investment in skills and training within our sector from the government and industry.”
