It now looks as if the rumoured Xbox One and PS4 release for former Wii U exclusive ZombiU is real.
The Australian Classification currently has a listing for a Ubisoft title called Zombi. It has been rated MA 15+ for strong horror violence, blood and gore”.
Earlier this month Unseen64 reported that Ubisoft was pushing ahead with development of a port of the game, which was a Wii U launch title and exclusive, for PS4 and Xbox One.
This project is one I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while,” it said. It’s been in flux for some time but I’ve recently received some information that it’s finally found its feet and could be ready to surface soon.
This is not confirmation that it will see release. I am confirming that it is in development and the Ubisoft team is finally ready to move forward with it. Maybe there is some hope at Ubisoft that they can turn this around and they can build this into a viable franchise.”
The first game was reasonably well received by critics but was a commercial failure for Ubisoft, with CEO Yves Guillemot saying that it wasnot even close”to being profitable, eliminating the possibility of a sequel.
