Zushi Games has revealed it will launch its first digitally downloadable title in 2010.
The publisher will release a new instalment in its Premier Manager series on PlayStation Network for PS3 next year, marking the first time Zushi has shied away from traditional boxed product.
As a company we are always looking for the next opportunity to broaden our appeal to the end consumer,” marketing executive Chris Walton (pictured) told MCV.
This version is going to be a PSN exclusive. It will bring new features not seen in Premier Manager before, building on the key elements of the retail version.”
Producer Jon Seymour added: In the case of Premier Manager, we identified a gap where football management fans are not being catered for on consoles.
Following previous successes on PS2, moving onto PSN was a natural progression allowing a new audience of players to give the title a go.”
Zushi will be watching the sales of Premier Manager on PSN carefully, as its success could prompt further releases.
We want to remain competitive and so we will continue to look at digital opportunities that are presented to us,” said Walton.
Digital distribution is gaining momentum, bringing a new purchase option to the gamer, and we relish the opportunity to reach consumers in a new way.”
Walton added that Zushi was particularly interested in bringing its titles to other platforms, including Xbox Live and Apple's App Store.
