Zynga user numbers have halved in the last year

Zynga has lost nearly half of its daily active userbase and more than half of its monthly active users in the last year.

Figures in the mobile and social gaming firm’s latest financial report show that the current number of daily active users is at 28m, up from 27 million in the three months ending December 31st.This though is just over half of the 52m DAUs the company reported in the first quarter of 2013.

The number of monthly average users has risen ten per cent to 123m however. But this too has dropped significantly since the start of 2013, when Zynga had 253m active users playing its games each month – a quarter of a billion.
