Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare beats PES 2015 to Japanese No.1

Western FPS king Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has beaten a firm Japanese favourite to the top of the Japanese weekly charts.

Famitsu data reveals that the shooter, published by Square Enix in the region, sold 100,996 copies on PS3 to claim No.1, beating the 76,407 units PES 2015 sold on the same console.

The PS4 version of COD claimed third spot with 68,261 sales with the PS4 version of PES 2015 claiming eighth with 26,627 unit sales.

It was both games’ debut week.

Wii U debutant Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker could manage just 29,985 units in its first week, claiming seventh place.

In the hardware charts the Vita, PS4 and Wii U all pulled ahead of the New 3DS, with many machines enjoying strong weekly games.
