Call of Duty World League Birmingham Open details revealed

Multiplay and Activision have released some of the finer details of their upcoming Call of Duty World League event that is set to take place at Insomnia 60 in Birmingham next month.

The open competition allows anyone to compete providing they purchase the correct ticket. Up to 96 teams will compete in the double elimination open bracket that starts on Friday April 14th and runs until Saturday April 15th. The top four teams from the open bracket will make it into pool play.

The top twelve teams in the European Pro Points leaderboard will also make it into pool play, with no need to play in the open bracket, providing they submit their roster to league officials by 8am on April 4th. The top eight teams will get their travel and accommodation covered by Activision.

The pool play will determine the championship bracket, with the top two teams from each group making it into the winner’s side. Another four teams from the open bracket will make it into the loser’s side to bring the total to 20 teams in the final stage of the competition.

The team that wins the whole thing will take home an impressive $20,000 and 10,000 pro points per player. Second grabs $12,000 and 6,000 pro points while third takes home $8,000 and 4,400 pro points. The full prize pool and pro points breakdown is available on Dexerto
