Capcom adds local co-op to Resident Evil: Revelations 2 on PC

Capcom has announced the addition of local co-op play to the PC release of Resident Evil: Revelations 2.

As reported last month, fans were not pleased at Capcom’s post-launch confirmation that the Steam release of Revelations 2 would not include local co-op like its console counterparts.

The backlash eventually led Capcom to offer up refunds, but it seems the company has about-faced on the matter, revealing that split-screen co-op has been implemented into the PC version. The beta update, which any owner of the game can opt-in for, adds local co-op to both campaign and raid mode.

Capcom explained the option isn’t yet reflected in the game’s UI and may not be completely polished (thus the beta release), but that it wanted to get the feature in the hands of PC gamers as soon as possible.

In related news, the second episode of Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has released and is available now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
