At MCV we’re not above a good typo now and then. Hell, we even spotted one on the BBC earlier in the week. But a spelling mistake on the spine of a game cover? That’s a new one on us.
But that’s exactly what has happened in the US.
Pictures last night began to emerge online of copies of Resident Evil: Revelations sent out early to – of all people – journalists.Amazingly, the spine of the game incorrectly reads Resident Evil: Revelaitons”.
The publisher subsequently confirmed that the error will appear on the entire first production run of the title.
"We apologise for the mistake, which will be corrected for subsequent productions of the game,” an official statement read.We are working on a solution to provide affected customers with the correct packaging."
You can expect the solution” to involve printing out a correct version of the cover shared online.
Which, funnily enough, is exactly what Capcom did when in 2008 it released Wii title Okami – complete with an IGN watermark in the artwork.
