Capcom Pro Tour details to be revealed at the end of February

Capcom has revealed that it will announce the first details of the 2017 Capcom Pro Tour at the end of February.

“Full details on #CPT2017 will be released in late February on http://capcomprotour.com,” read a tweet from the Capcom Fighters account. “In the interest of helping players plan their travel, we’ll be announcing the first Premier Events of #CPT2017 over the next few weeks.”

While all the details are still a few weeks away we do know that Final Round, which runs between March 10th and 12th, will be the first Capcom Pro Tour Premier Event of the year. Some are speculating that Final Round may be the official start of the Capcom Pro Tour, which would mean events such as the Cannes Winter Clash, which was a part of the tour last year, would not be included this year.

Some significant changes are expected for the Capcom Pro Tour in 2017. Pro players have been calling for fewer events and a simpler qualifying system, as 2016 featured at least one event every weekend and there was multiple ways to qualify for the Capcom Cup, which meant event hardcore fans were confused as to who was in and who was out.
