Western European conference Casual Connect hosts key execs from industry's fastest growing sector

Casual games developers flock to Amsterdam

Hundreds of key decision makers from the world of casual games have descended on Amsterdam today for the three-day Casual Connect Europe West conference.

Running from today until Friday, February 8th the Western Europe event has seen record numbers attend – according to organiser the Casuals Games Association total attendees for its West and Eastern Europe have been over 1,340 – a 56 per cent hike on last year.

Representing companies exhibiting and hosting sessions include Google, Microsoft, King.com, RealNetworks, Zylom, Big Fish Games, MumboJumbo, Oberon Media, WildTangent, PopCap Games, MTV Networks, Yahoo! Europe, EA Casual Entertainment UK and Eidos.

“Europe is at that forefront of innovation in the casual games business, and what better way to start the year than with a gathering of the leaders in casual gaming in Amsterdam,” said Jessica Tams, managing director of the Casual Games Association.

Tams revealed that Casual Connect Europe 2009 will be hosted in Hamburg, Germany.
