Cinedigm and the WHAM Network to launch eSports streaming channel

Cinedigm and The WHAM Network Inc have announced a new eSports focused digital channel that will broadcast content 24/7.

Specific details of what the channel will involve are thin on the ground, but we do know that it will a digital streaming affair that will be available on all major connected mobile devices, gaming consoles, and set top boxes. The two companies are also in talks with US TV providers to get the channel distributed in cable packages.

Outside of that we know pretty much nothing. There has been no news on what the content will be, who from the world of eSports is involved (you would hope they would at least have one expert involved, otherwise it will end badly, or even when it will launch as just a tentative Q3 2017 was given.

“WHAM is extremely excited to launch this Gaming lifestyle and culture channel,” says WHAM Founder/CEO Gary Kleinman. “We couldn’t be happier than to work with the exceptional team at Cinedigm, an organization that has tremendous experience in all avenues of content distribution on a global basis.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Gary and the rest of the top-notch team at WHAM to bring this very timely streaming channel to audiences worldwide,” said Chris McGurk, Cinedigm’s Chairman and CEO. “Given the huge global market and fast growing consumer obsession with esports and gaming, we fully expect this channel to resonate with audiences and provide a tremendous growth opportunity.”
